Assumption

Q: Edit the extraneous material and produce a clear and concise version of each argument. Insert any implicit assumptions, and indicate any sub-conclusions.

Argument: We should not extend the status of the family to same sex-couples. There are two reasons for this. First, not all discrimination is bad. It is not wrong to discriminate in favour of what is good and against what is bad for our society. Secondly, on the basis of family status, it is not unfair to treat same-sex couples differently than a mixed-sex couple because they are objectively different.

My understanding:

C – We should not extend the status of the family to same-sex couples.

SC – Not all discrimination is bad.

P1 – It is not wrong to discriminate in favour of what is good and against what is bad for our society.

P2 – It is not unfair to treat same-sex couples differently than a mixed-sex couple because they are objectively different.

I’m failing to understand the implicit assumption (if there even is one), and if it is connected in some way with the other premises.
