Breaches can have devastating and long-lasting consequences for those people affected by having, or potentially having, their personal information released. Likewise, the jobs of employees and the investments made by shareholders of such an organization might be severely impacted by an organization needing to react to and contain such a breach.

Discuss

Using your knowledge of a specific legal and regulatory jurisdiction and the moral and ethical values of that environment, consider how a “potential” breach, or a particular breach with unknown or “potential” leaks, should be handled by the affected organization (public or private). Determine where the actions (if any) should originate (i.e., roles and responsibilities).
